I love Lisa Johnson's new set Remember from Papertrey Ink. It's full of Poppies. I was inspired to do this card from Lauren Meador's card posted here. (scroll down and you'll see it) I just love red and black together and decided I needed to make this for me---actually, it's for someone who had me over to lunch today, but I made it because I wanted to! (Isn't that why I do all this stuff??? Oh, well, you know what I mean---and if you don't, you must be a man and what are you doing reading this anyway?) OK---I'm back---anyway, black and red---love them!
This was a quick card to put together----I started with the Pure Poppy cardstock. I stamped some swirls on it in the same color ink. Then I added a strip of Stamper's Select White cardstock with polka dots from Polka Dot Basics--such a quick way to make a background. I stamped my poppies and swirls onto white cardstock using Pure Poppy and Jet Black Stazon inks. Then I stamped them again and cut them out. I popped them up on dimensionals and tied a piece of pure poppy grosgrain behind the image.
I stamped the sentiment and added another flower in the center of the words---I love how Lisa made the same flower in a smaller size so you can do something cute like this!!! I punched it out with a 1 1/2" circle punch and added the black scallop using my SU! 1 3/8" scallop circle punch.
Quick and simple---I was going to add some stickles (glitter) to the sentiment flower, but I can't find it----hmmmm, I must have "organized it" ....do you ever do that? Anyway, just pretend that it's all bling-y.
Many hugs~
Kathleen
