{Lime Rickey Birthday}

OK----I know, enough with the Lime Rickey, but I told you I couldn't put those chip stickers away once I tried them! As I've mentioned, I'm trying to build up the birthday stash for my kids. It seems that whenever one of them has a party, I never have an appropriate card for them. These Chip Stickers are so whimsical, it made cute birthday cards quick and easy.

I used the little pinwheels from the collection as my focal image. Again, almost no stamping on this card---that is so unusual for me. Anyway, I started out with a white card base and used more patterned paper from the Lime Rickey collection. Then I used twill in Summer Sunrise and Enchanted Evening to be the "sticks" for the pinwheels---I love the twill--- I just think it suits this sort of card so well. It seems casual to me. Anyway, I stuck the pinwheels down on the card and added a piece of Scarlet Jewel twill horizontally across the card. I added three Scarlet Jewel buttons and a little tag and I was finished. These are really fun----look for them on sale. You really can make a bunch of cards or scrapbook pages quickly and inexpensively. And isn't that what we all want? (nod your head---it will make me feel better!) I hope you have a great day!!!

{More Lime Rickey and I hate morning!!!}

OK---I love my job--really, I do. I'm so blessed that I have a job that I love and I work with some of my best friends in the world, BUT---I do hate the morning! And getting up at 5:20 5 mornings a week now has ruined my weekend! NO, I don't have to get up that early do get ready, but I think I'm a better wife and mom, teacher, friend, if I have some time to myself, with God's precious word, just to sit and drink some coffee.....you get the picture....BEFORE I face anyone else. SOOOOO, I get up early. Then, on Saturday, I wake up at 5:00 AM---SERIOUSLY!!! What is that about??? I was able to go back to sleep until....wait for it....6:30 whoo-hoo! Yep, it's a curse, but, I must say once I'm up, I do enjoy the quiet house and beautiful weather on my deck at that time of day!!

OK---enough complaining! Here's a card I made in about 20 minutes! I made it the other day when I was playing with my Lime Rickey Chip Stickers---I had forgotten that I had used this tag again(it's the same one I used on my last card here)---but oh well---it has a different sentiment! This is just a clean and simple card. I made a 5.25" square card out of Rustic cream cardstock. I cut a large piece of Catawba Flip paper from the Lime Rickey line and added a piece of New Leaf satin ribbon. I stamped this tag from 2009 Autumn tags and added the enjoy sentiment from the same set. I added two little Taylor's Tiny Twinkles from Taylored Expressions. I love these and they come in so many different colors! So much fun to add a little bling to your card! On the detail shot you can tell I had pierced a circle in the patterned paper, but it really doesn't show up. After I finished the card, I thought about adding a piece of green galore paper in a circle with THAT pierced. I think that would have looked great, but I needed to quit stamping, so I just left it. Lesson learned---piercing patterned paper doesn't usually show up! You don't have to tell me twice! I'll remember now!

Well, I need to go take my dog for a walk while it's still cool...ish. I hope you enjoy your weekend. We are going to the Durham Bulls game tonight. Hannah's choir is singing the National Anthem and we have wanted to go all summer and haven't, so this will be a fun night to go---fireworks and all!

I saw these Basic Grey Chip stickers on sale at Archivers and I thought I'd try them. I've never used any "thickers" or chipboard on my cards, but I knew this would make some quick cards and I'm all about quick these days. These are from the Lime Rickey collection. I have a 6x6 pad of this, so I decided to sit down and make a few cards! I was shocked at how quickly the card came together. The "image" was already decided for me, so I just put together some patterned paper and accessories and it was finished.

The details are below---I really am glad I tried these---I'm not sure I needed a whole pack of them, but they were on a good sale, so I only paid a little bit for them. You may see them a lot this year for some of my cards for Joshua's classmate's birthdays. They seem to be perfect for kids cards!

Thanks for stopping by today---my sister and her family are in town this week, so I'll be busy several evenings spending time with them. I had hoped to have something for the PTI Blog Hop tonight, but I don't know if that will happen---have a great evening!
